Lloyd W. Smart, 83, of Tebbetts, passed away at Adams Street Place in Jefferson City on Monday, January 18, 2021. He was born in Tebbetts, Missouri on September 29, 1937, to the late Dewitt Clinton Smart and the late Edith (Sanford) Smart. On Valentine's Day of 1958, Lloyd was united in marriage to Mary Ann (Mertens) Smart. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2016. Lloyd was a graduate of Jefferson City High School. He spent his life working the land alongside several members of his family. A man of faith, Lloyd was a member of the Tebbetts United Methodist Church, Tebbetts Masonic Lodge 565, Mokane Masonic Lodge 612 for more than 50 years, Tebbetts Odd Fellow Lodge 596, and a life-time Shriner's member. He was also a member of the Sons of the Legion Post 5 in Jefferson City and served on the Levee Districts for Tebbetts, Mokane, and Jefferson City. In his spare time, Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He will be fondly remembered by son, Mark Smart (Dianne) of Tebbetts; daughters, Theresa Wendring (John) of Fulton, and Kim Vincent (David) of Fair Play; sisters-in-law, Betty, Peggy, and Doralee Smart; grandchildren, Jennifer Redcay (Nathan), Shawn Smart (Jennifer), Traci Smart-Redcay (Brandon), Jody Ayers (Jeff), Miranda Coleman (Tim McAlpin), Mary Haskell (Michael), and Trey Langdon; great-grandchildren, Jayden Ayers, Kaylee and Nick Redcay, Mariah and Kyle Coleman, Annabelle and Marabel Smart, and Emery Redcay; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Lloyd was preceded in death by son, Wade Smart; and brothers, Wilson, Andy, Bill, Bob, Joe, and Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Kay Hord officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Tebbetts Riverview Cemetery.
