Larry Wayne Lucas

Larry Wayne Lucas, age 74, of New Bloomfield, Mo., passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021, surrounded by family at his home. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Larry was born on November 3, 1946, in Moberly, Mo. to Neville and Ruth (Kirkendoll). He graduated from Moberly High School in 1964, then attended Moberly Junior College. Larry went on to receive his FCC Radio Telephone Operators License. He worked as a TV Broadcast Engineer at KRCG until his retirement in 1990, and was the owner of Little Flowers in New Bloomfield, Mo. Larry married the love of his life, Lana McKinney, on October 7, 1972. Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Lana Lucas of the home; one daughter, Angie Lucas of Columbia, Mo.; one son, Jade Lucas and wife Dione of New Bloomfield, Mo.; three brothers, Gary Lucas, Darryl Lucas and Steve Lucas, all of Moberly, Mo.; six grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Larry was a faithful member of Dry Fork Baptist Church. He had a love for the outdoors and spent much of his time fishing, hunting, and coaching baseball. Most of all, Larry loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, teaching them the love of Jesus. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Kent Lucas. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Dry Fork Baptist Church in New Bloomfield, Mo. Funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m, with Dr. Lewis Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Dry Fork Cemetery.
