Josie Griggs

Josie Griggs, 93, of Columbia, Mo., passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, in Columbia. Josie was born April 2, 1927 in Callaway County, the daughter of Hollie and Martha Giboney Keeling. She married Leo Griggs in Arkansas, and he preceded her in death. She worked for 30 years with Shelter Insurance before her retirement in 1989. She enjoyed working in her lawn, and was always happy to pull an unwanted weed. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Larry) Sapp of Columbia; grandsons, Jeffrey Sapp and Brian (Alyssa) Sapp of Columbia; great-granddaughter, Brianna Elizabeth Sapp, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; two sisters; one brother; her parents; and a great-granddaughter, Christina Marie Sapp. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., Friday, January 8 at Memorial Funeral Home with graveside service to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
