David F. Kemp, 71, of Bland, Mo., passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021. David was born November 29, 1949, to Francis Elmo and Ruby Myrtle (Frey) Kemp in Fulton, Mo. He was united in marriage to Linda L. Niederer on May 8, 1971, at Immaculate Conception Church in Owensville, Mo. David enjoyed spending time with his family and writing poems about the different events in their lives. He loved spending time outside mowing his grass via his tractor and lawn mower. During the summer he practiced his master gardening skills. During retirement, David enjoyed traveling with Linda and in-laws Philip and Netie. He made sure his sons knew what "real" country music was, a good cup of coffee comes from Casey's, and how to debate, especially about politics. David was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville. His survivors include wife, Linda L. (Niederer) Kemp; sons, David "Chip" Kemp and wife Nicky of Auxvasse, Mo., Brad Kemp and wife Sara of Owensville, and Todd Kemp and wife Angie of Kingdom City, Mo.; brothers, Joe Kemp of Fulton and James "J.C." Kemp and wife Mary Kay of New Bloomfield, Mo.; sisters, Wilma Wall and Danny of Holts Summit, Mo., Teresa Jett and husband Wayne of Fulton, Renee Harrison and Jim of Fulton, Tammy Ernst and husband Joe of Madison, Ala., and Stephanie Mahnken and husband Patrick of Fulton; sisters-in-law, Billie Kemp of Montgomery City, Mo., JoAnn Creason of Belle, Mo., Carol Vaughn of Durant, Okla., Neta "Bug" Wesley and husband Philip of Durant, Okla.; grandchildren, Tyler Kemp, Bailey Abell and husband Zac, Courtney Kemp, Dane Kemp, and Bailey Rasmussen; and great-grandchildren, William Henry Abell and Samuel David Abell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Ruby Kemp; parents-in-law, Joe and Violet (Twelkemeier) Niederer; brothers, Wallace, Harry "DD", Richard Wayne, Francis, and Leslie Kemp; sisters, Velma "Sissy" Durham and Kay Love; brothers-in-law, Claude Durham, Larry Love, Charles Creason, Coy Vaughn, Joel "Bob" Niederer, and Rich Niederer; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Kemp and Betty Niederer. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Church in Owensville, Mo., with Celebrant Father Wayne Boyer. Burial was at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Owensville.
