Claude Pitts

Claude Pitts, 82, of Fulton, passed away at University Hospital on Monday, September 28, 2020. He was born on May 17, 1938, to the late Clarence Pitts and Pearl (Jenkins) Pitts. Claude was married to Virginia (Horn) Pitts who survives his passing. Claude retired from both Columbia Public Schools where he worked for 10 years and North Callaway School District where he drove a bus for 19 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and working on small engines. Claude will be missed by his wife Virginia; sons, Corky Pitts, John Pitts, Mikel Pitts, Delbert Raps; daughters, Rosalie Newkirk (Robert), Quenta Webster (Larry) Treasa Horstman (Michael) and Vickie Shoemaker (Robert); grandchildren, Anthony Pitts Fugate, Travis Pitts, Jeremy Pitts, Josh Pitts, Justin Newkirk, Jason Newkirk, Derrick Marcotte, Ashley Coward, Ryder Pitts, Rylee Horstman, Amy Raps, Daniel Raps, Aaron Raps, and Bettina Shoemaker; and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Jack Coleman officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Carrington Baptist Church Cemetery.
