Opal June Pinkerton

Opal June Pinkerton, 90, of Fulton, Mo., peacefully passed away Friday, October 23, 2020, in The Maple Unit at The Bluffs in Columbia, Mo. June was born on June 30, 1930 in Fulton, Mo., the daughter of Thomas Benjamin Mirts and Anna (McKim) Mirts, who preceded her in death. She was married on December 22, 1950 in Fulton, Mo. to Richard Pinkerton, who preceded her in death in 1959. June retired in 1995 from Farmers Mutual Insurance Company after working for 33 years as their secretary. She was a faithful member of Central Christian Church where she served as their treasurer and also enjoyed volunteering for several years at McIntire Elementary School after her retirement. Survivors include: two daughters, Vicky Salmons (Tommy) of Fulton, Mo. and Denise Pinkerton (John Harris) of Columbia, Mo.; one sister, Dorothy Norris of Euless, Texas; four grandchildren, Stacy Gray (Todd), Shauna Smith (Clint), Shad Salmons (Jennifer) and Alex Salmons (Kathryn); and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers. Private graveside services and burial were held on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton, Mo. with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating.
