John Nelson Rose, 101, of Fulton, Mo., passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020, at Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Mo. John was born on May 18, 1919, in Reform, Mo., the son of Zachariah and Amelia (Neher) Rose who preceded him in death. He was married on September 1, 1940, in St. Charles, Mo. to Helen (Minker) Rose who preceded him in death on January 4, 2016. John was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He was a store manager for Safeway Grocery, retiring in 1981. Survivors include: one daughter, Kenda Ferrugia (Mike) of Fulton, Mo.; one son, Kevin Rose (Kim) of Fulton, Mo.; five grandchildren, Zachary Rose (Brittney), Matthew Rose (Emily), Angela Quick, Sarah Baker (Kelly) and Steven Ferrugia (Krystal); 10 great-grandchildren, Lila Rose, Max Rose, Moses Rose, Hank Rose, Rylan Quick, Kolten Quick, Easton Quick, Addison Baker, Hadlie Baker and Adam Ferrugia and several nieces, nephews and cousins. John was also preceded in death by infant son, John Gary Rose and infant daughter, Karen Kay Rose. Private memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, Mo. with Rev. Bruce Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton, Mo. with full military honors.
