Loretta E. (Schollmeyer) McCubbin

Loretta E. (Schollmeyer) McCubbin, age 72, of Auxvasse, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Adams Street Place in Jefferson City. She was born in Jefferson City on April 16, 1947, daughter of the late Otto and Lula Marie (Reynolds) Schollmeyer. On February 19, 2005, in Fulton, Loretta married Donald McCubbin, who survives at their home. In addition to her husband, Donald McCubbin, she is also survived by one sister, Mary Verslues of Jefferson City; one brother, Bernard Schollmeyer of Dallas, Texas; and two stepsons, Larry and Kerry McCubbin. both of Auxvasse. Loretta was a 1965 graduate of Linn High School and graduate of Lincoln University. She worked for Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City as a computer technologist from 1974 to 2013. She was a member of Church of Christ in Fulton. Loretta had a talent for crocheting afghans, quilting and sewing. She enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors boating and camping. She loved her two dogs, Poochie and Barker. Loretta had a serene personality and was known for her peaceful smile. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Friday, September 27, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Pastor Dean Waters officiating. Interment will be held in Hickory Point Cemetery near Iberia. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Chiari Foundation or Hickory Point Cemetery.
