Pansy Cure, 78, of Columbia, formerly of Fulton, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019, at The Bluffs. She was born on October 2, 1940, in Fulton, to the late Lawrence "Pete" Fletcher and the late Elizabeth Margaret (Fey) Wilson and was raised by Elizabeth and William Wilson. A graduate of Fulton High School, she attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville. She worked for a number of years as a medical assistant to Dr. Henry Durst of Fulton, and as an Administrative Associate II at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She was a member of MURA, the MU Retirees Association. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, a volunteer at Harry S. Truman Veteran's Hospital, and volunteered for The Wardrobe in Columbia as well as served on the Board of Directors. Her love of animals motivated her to foster pets for Columbia Second Chance and Westie Rescue of Missouri. Pansy loved to travel, was a talented seamstress and loved to go antiquing and collect arrowheads. One of her favorite pastimes was to hit garage sales with her sisters. She will be remembered by her children, Henry Douglas Durst (Sherry) of Fulton, Karen Durst Nichols of Columbia and her husband Keven of Mexico, and Melanie Riley Douglas (Chris) of Weston, Fla.; siblings, William Wilson (LaDonna) of Dallas, Texas, Ronda Hays (James) of Fulton, Robert Wilson (Marsha) of Jefferson City, John Wilson (Barbara) of Fulton, Benjamin Wilson (Leslie) of New Bloomfield, Deanna McMullan (Brian) Fulton, Suzette Grosz (Nathaniel) of Columbia, Mark Wilson of Fulton, and Sally Hagar of Fulton; sister-in-law, Barbara Wilson of Fulton; grandchildren, William Durst of Fulton, Doug Foster Nichols of Lawton, Okla., Leslie Nichols of Mexico, Eliana, Jaelyn, and Hadley Douglas of Westin, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ed Wilson; and her favorite dog MacGregor. Per her wishes, Pansy's body has been donated to science in order to further Alzheimer's Research.
