Roy Winn "Jim" Smith, 87, of Fulton, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at his home. He was born on November 28, 1932 in Hatton, Missouri, the son of the late James Richard Smith and the late Pearl (Winn) Smith. On July 14, 1953, he was united in marriage to Dorothy (Ridgel) Smith. She survives his passing. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. For more than 30 years, he worked as a plumber for Garrett and Campbell, retiring in 1995. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2657 as well as a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Callaway Lodge 105. He was also an honorary member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, University of Missouri Columbia. In addition to his wife of 66 years, Jim is survived by son, Danny C. Smith (Stephanie) of Fulton; brother, Bobbie N. Smith (Nancy) of Columbia; sisters, Jessie Vaughn and Marilyn Jatho of Fulton; and grandchildren, Jaena Smith of Longview, Texas and Landon Smith of Lake Ozark; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene Smith; and sister, Earline Hawkins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
