James Robert Bacon

James Robert Bacon Sr., 70, of Holts Summit, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. James was born on February 5, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Richard and Maxine Stapish Bacon. He was married to Sheryl Lucas on January 28, 1972 in Lake County, Michigan and she survives. James served his country in the United States Army as a member of the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. He is also survived by sons, James (Sandra) Bacon Jr. of Luther, Michigan, Jason Bacon of Tucson, Arizona and Josh Bacon of Holts Summit; brothers, Richard Bacon Jr. of Punta Gorda, Florida, John (Roxene) Bacon of Summerville, South Carolina, William Bacon of Jackson, Michigan, Jerry Bacon of Christianburg, Virginia and Larry Bacon of South Lyn, Michigan; sisters, Linda Bacon-Kendall of Pahrump, Nevada, Margaret (Darrell) Johnson of Stafford, Virginia, and Janet Bacon-Dixon of Saranas, Michigan; brothers-in-law, Robert Lucas of Luther, Michigan and John Chapman of S. Lyon, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Gerry) Pratt of Tustin, Michigan, Susie (Matt) Canfield of Tustin, Michigan, Kathy (Tom) Fischer of Tustin, Michigan and Karen Lucas of Luther, Michigan; grandsons, Nicholas Bacon, Gabriel Bacon and Benjamin Bacon, all of Linn, Missouri; along with many other loving family members. James was also preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Chapman; brothers-in-law, Keith Lucas and Ronald Lucas and sister-in-law, Dolores Lucas; father-in-law, Leslie Lucas and mother-in-law, Dorothy Lucas. The family will receive guests from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit, Missouri. Funeral services and burial will be in Luther, Michigan.
