Michael O'Don "Mickey" Malone

Michael O'Don "Mickey" Malone, 79, of Columbia, passed away at Boone Hospital on Monday, April 2, 2018. Mickey was born on July 3, 1938, in Iowa Falls, Iowa to the late Chester and Helen Malone. After completing high school, Mickey served his country for 8 years by joining the National Guard from which he received an honorable discharge on June 30, 1964. Following his time in the service, he married Loucile Barnes on June 14, 1969, and together they shared 48 years of marriage. Mickey was a Union Carpenter for his entire life and took pride in his work. He enjoyed reading, music, art, playing and watching sports, nature and the great outdoors, building fires and roasting weenies, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and his two grandsons which he was very proud of. Mickey is survived by his wife Loucile; one son: Michael Lance Malone and wife Cindy of Rocheport; two grandsons: Thadeus Edward and Elijah Alexander Malone of Rocheport; and one brother-in-law: Jack Jensen of Canyon Lake, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother Ronald Wray Malone of Canyon Lake, Texas. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Association. At the request of the family no public service will be held.
