Lena Belle Gallatin

Lena Belle Gallatin, 86, of Fulton, passed peacefully from this earth on Thursday, November 2, 2017. She was born on January 1, 1931 in Steedman, Missouri, the daughter of the late Orvey H. Garriott and the late Dorothy (Nichols) Garriott O'Neal. Lena was united in marriage to Paul J. Gallatin on November 2, 1950. He survives her passing. Lena retired from the United States Postal service where she worked as the Post Master of the Steedman Post office. A woman of God and strong faith, she was a member of Church of God (Holiness) in Fulton. Lena was a talented artist and enjoyed painting. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband of 67 years, Paul, of Fulton; sons, Lyndell R. Gallatin of Columbia and Michael D. Gallatin (Marion) of Fulton; daughter, Susan Witte (Brad) of Fenton; brothers, Clyde Garriott of Jefferson City and David Garriott of Fulton; grandchildren, April Peek (John), Lynlee Renick, April Pittman (Chris), Audrey Jones (Garrett), Rebekah Gallatin, Misha Thompson (Curtis), and Grace, Sam, and Joel Witte; and great-grandchildren, Jasmin Peek, Matthew and Emilia Renick, Arieon and Tyree Galbreath, Travis Gallatin, and Genesis Thompson. Lena was preceded in death by her parents; son, Stanley Gene Gallatin; brothers, Eugene Garriott, and Orvey Garriott Jr.; and sister, Barbara Baise. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Church of God (Holiness) in Fulton with Reverend Travis Sayler and Reverend Clyde Garriott officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Steedman Cemetery.
