William Dudley Payne

William Dudley Payne, 91, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born on July 26, 1925, the only child of W.W and Ruth (Farmer) Payne. William graduated from Fulton High School and the University of Missouri. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He married the former Peggy Smith in 1947 and she preceded him in death. He was employed by and retired from MODOT. William is survived by his longtime companion and friend: Louise Ulrich and son: Scott B. Ulrich. He was preceded in death by his wife and one son: Robbie Payne. A private burial will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton, Missouri.
