Betty Ann Martin, 82, of Fulton, was welcomed into Heaven on Monday, June 5, 2017. She was born on July 11, 1934 in McGirk, Mo., the daughter of the late Otto Higgins and the late Bertha (Maier) Higgins. On December 22, 1951, Betty was united in marriage to Walter "Ray" Martin who survives her passing. Betty was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. She loved her family and loved the Lord. She wanted to be sure her all of her loved ones were ready for Heaven. Betty taught Sunday School for 36 years and was a member of Mt. Carmel ladies club. Family gatherings were something she enjoyed. Betty had a hand in babysitting and raising all of her grandchildren. Those remaining to mourn her passing include her husband of 65 years; sons, Darrell Martin (Shelby) of Fulton, and Jeff Martin (Vicky) of Fulton; daughter, Debbie Autenrieth (Phil) of Fulton; brothers, Kenny, Larry, and Roger Higgins; sisters, Patsy Higgins and Kathy Hamilton; grandchildren, Vince Martin, Melissa Autenrieth, Chris Martin, Aaron Martin, and Carmin Pritchett; and great-grandchildren, Addilynn Martin, Jaxson Martin, and Colton Pritchett. Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by sisters, Rosie Wills and Carol Baker. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Williamson and Pastor Guy Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
