Barbara Ann Watson

Barbara Ann Watson, 64, of Mokane, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born on December 17, 1951, in Gasconade County, the daughter of the late Walter H. Poeschel and step-mother, Fern Poeschel and the late Evelyn E. (Heinlein) Poeschel. On March 11, 1972, Barbara was united in marriage to Don Watson. He survives her passing. Barbara enjoyed knitting, playing cards and BINGO, doing puzzles and dancing. She was a member of the Portland Quilting Club. What brought her the most happiness was spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 44 years; daughters, Ann Quarles of Columbia and Donna Dixon (Stacy) of Hannibal; sister, Alice Poeschel; and grandchildren, Joseph William Quarles, Kathleen Marie Quarles, Jeremy Lynn Quarles, Lauren Christine Ihms, Lindsey Renee Ihms, Erica Ann Dixon, Abigail Marie Greninger, Jeconah Jacob Alexander Dixon and Elaina Rosalie Dixon. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roland Poeschel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Marshall Crossnoe officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Portland Cemetery.
