Nick T. Cave II, 69, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Nick was born August 18, 1946, in Fulton, Mo., son of John and Harriet (Gooch) Cave. He earned his Bachelorís at Westminster College and attended the University of Missouri for graduate school before serving as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He then earned his J.D. from the National Law Center at George Washington University. Afterwards, he worked in the human resources department at General Services Administration, eventually becoming its director. He continued working until the day of his passing. Nick loved baseball and football, particularly the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was interested in the world around him, following politics and current events and reading history. He enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it involved emailing them jokes, talking with them over the phone, losing to them in cribbage, or listening to their many stories. He is survived by his children: Justin, Graeme, and Alison; brothers, John and David; sister, Sally; and extended family and friends. Nick was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Margaret. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. followed by memorial service at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes.
