Thomas "Tommy" Veltrop

Thomas "Tommy" Veltrop, 11, of Holts Summit passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Women's and Children's Hospital in Columbia. He was born on September 27, 2004, the son of David Lawrence and Melissa Kay (Salinas) Veltrop, both of whom survive of the home. He attended Special Learning Center and Kirchner State School. He loved music, especially, "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. His favorite color was red and he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He loved to demonstrate his love of art by doing many crafts with his family. Most of all, Tommy loved his family, especially his mom, dad, brothers and sister. He treasured the time he got to spend with them. Tommy is also survived by paternal grandparents, Larry and Donna Veltrop of Holts Summit; maternal grandparents, Robert and Marsha Wilson of Holts Summit; maternal great-grandparents, Raul and Irma Salinas of Florida and Katie Richey of Sebring, Fla.; two brothers, Jacob and Kayden Veltrop of the home; and one sister, Madison Veltrop of the home. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Miguel "Mike" Salinas; paternal great-grandparents, George and Esther Veltrop, Emmett and Marjorie Faulconer; and maternal great-grandparents, William and Elizabeth Wilson. Family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m., on Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Slater-Millard Funeral Chapel in Holts Summit. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit with Fr. Joe Corel officiating. Interment will be in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery in Holts Summit. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Family of Tommy Veltrop or the Women's and Childrenís Hospital-Activity Center.
