Mary Ruth Henderson

Mary Ruth Henderson, 93, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015, at Fulton Manor . Mary was born May 13, 1921, in Hams Prairie, Missouri to Benjamin and Hattie Kemp Wickell. She married Ernest Ray Mirts and they raised five children and he preceded her in death. She later married Harry L. Henderson and he preceded her in death. Her siblings, Henry, Louis, Kenneth, Joseph and Donald Wickell, Alice Mosley and Edith McAtee also preceded her in death. Mary retired from the Fulton State Hospital after working there for 14 years. She then traveled the southwest area of the United States with Harry before coming back to Missouri and working as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Columbia, Missouri. She was an excellent seamstress and she also enjoyed doing genealogy and learning about her family's history. Mary loved to travel and was a member of a C.B. radio group. She also liked to shop for antiques and collectibles. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lois Scott of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Bonnie Whitehurse of Boonville, Missouri, Gary Mirts of Jefferson City, Missouri, Phyllis Miller of Fulton and Janet Payne of Columbia, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
