Donald Wayne Woodson Sr.

Donald Wayne Woodson Sr., 83, of Columbia, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015, at his home. Don was born March 23, 1932, in Middletown, Mo., to the late Lloyd and Dorothy Woodson and was raised in Mexico Mo. Don married Rose Long on August 20,1955, in Columbia and she survives. Don was a meat cutter for over 30 years. He was a member of the Downtown Optimist Club and the Hallsville United Methodist Church. He loved going to auctions and having garage sales. In addition to his wife, Rose, Don is survived by: his four sons, Donald Wayne Woodson Jr. (Cathy), Mike Woodson (Ginger), Alan Woodson and Charles Woodson (Joyce); two brothers, Larry Woodson (Kay) and Glenn Woodson (Judy); three grandchildren, Joe Woodson, Kelli Jo Woodson Buettner (Kyle) and Ashley Woodson Nichols (Nate); and one great-granddaughter, Lily Woodson. He is also preceded in death by: twin daughters; a sister, Wanda Thanos; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Woodson. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Monday, March 30, at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, at Hallsville United Methodist Church. Burial to follow at Oakland Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hallsville United Methodist Church, 11700 North Route B, Hallsville, Mo.
