William Kenneth "Kennie" Bahr, 88, of Fulton, passed on peacefully while surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 19, 2015, from injuries received in an auto accident just outside of Columbia on Monday, March 9, 2015. He was born in Portland, Mo. on June 27, 1926, the son of the late William Roy Bahr and the late Ella (Fahlbush) Vandelicht. On April 23, 1948, Kennie was united in marriage to the love of his life, Peggy (Hafey) Bahr. She survives his passing. Kennie graduated from Mokane High School in 1942, where he was co-valedictorian of his class. Kennie proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Harbison Walker in 1982. He then went to work in Security at William Woods University. Kennie was the most loving father and husband, totally devoted to his family. His wisdom, strength and humor guided them always. He was a kind, loving person who treated everyone as a friend. Kennie loved the outdoors and was an avid follower of the Cardinals, Blues and Mizzou Tigers. In this past year, he found great joy spending time with his great-grand-daughter little CC. Those remaining to celebrate his life include his wife of nearly 67 years; sons, Randy Bahr of St. Louis and Jeff Bahr (Pam) of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Margie Dillon-Odneal (David) of Fulton; grandchildren, Jamie Oestreich (Drew) of Fulton and Dak Dillon of Columbia; great-granddaughter, Collins Oestreich of Fulton; and step-brother, Roy Bahr. Along with his parents, Kennie was preceded in death by step-brother, Dale Bahr. Services will be held at a later date when Mrs. Bahr has recovered from her injuries and is able to attend a Celebration of Life honoring her beloved husband.
