Clarice Owen

Clarice "Deane" Owen, 94, formerly of Auxvasse, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Pin Oaks Golden Living Center in Mexico, Mo. She was born in Fulton, Mo., on September 22, 1920, the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas Williams and the late Lela Lessie (Craighead) Williams. On May 18, 1939, she was united in marriage to Thomas Bush Owen. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1994. Deane previously served as the County Clerk of Kingdom City. Along with her husband Tom, they owned Cross Roads Antiques and the Rainbow Motel in Kingdom City, Mo. She enjoyed playing Pitch and Canasta with her lady friends and was an avid reader. She was a long time member of the Auxvasse Presbyterian Church. Those remaining to mourn her passing include her son, Carl Wood Owen and his wife Connie of Huntington Beach, Ca.; Donna Gay Owen, the widow of her oldest son Billy Ray; four grandchildren, Shari Diane Owen-Curtis, Billy Bush Owen, Lisa Kimberly Owen, and Ryan Christopher Owen; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Noelle Owen, Jillian Erin Owen, Billie Isabel Owen, Kiran Christopher Owen, Devin Rose Owen; one great-great-grandchild, Jessie George Owen-Bussart; and several wonderful nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Ray Owen, and Thomas Pate Owen; brothers, Eddie Ray Williams, and Thomas Stanley Williams; half-brother, Samuel Leslie Strait; and grandson, Jon Darren Owen.
