Daphne Underwood

Daphne M. Underwood, 78, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Boone Hospital Center. She was born November 13, 1936, in Callaway County, the daughter of the late Nollie and Lula (Shaver) Miller. On August 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Robert L. "Bob" Underwood, who preceded her in death October 12, 2008. Daphne was a very active member of New Hope Baptist Church in Calwood. She worked at Brown Shoe Factory and then as a LPN at the Fulton State Hospital for 43 years. In her off time she enjoyed volunteering at the Willey House, counted cross stitching and traveling with her family. Daphne will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two daughters, Rhonda Turner (David) of Belton, Mo. and Roberta McCormack (Kevin) of Squires, Mo.; three grandchildren, Joseph Turner of St. Joseph, Tristram McCormack of Gladstone, Meghan McCormack of Fulton; other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded death by two brothers, Lee Roy Miller and James Russell Miller; three sisters, Edna Mae Winingear, Norma Jean Payne and Elizabeth Ann Miller. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to the time of service. Interment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd., Fulton, MO 65251.
