Mary Jane Groce

Mary Jane Groce, 84, of Fulton, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Fulton Manor. She was born on December 5, 1931 in Warrenton, the daughter of the late Earl Littrell and the late Irene "Pinky" Littrell. On September 8, 1951, Jane was united in marriage to Dr. George Groce. He survives her passing. Jane worked as a receptionist as Monsanto Chemicals in St. Louis while her husband attended medical school. They moved to Dayton, Ohio where Jane worked as a ward secretary during George's internship. Her next stop was Scott Air Force Base where her husband spent two years working at the base hospital. In 1958, the couple moved to Fulton where George started his medical practice. They soon adopted two children, Tom and Amy. In 1973, Jane opened The Gallery in downtown Fulton and in 1976 opened a second gallery in Jefferson City. Jane thoroughly enjoyed socializing with her wide circle of friends, and traveling with her family and friends. Especially memorable was the six month stay on the island of American Samoa with her husband and teenage children. Jane was a loving, kind, and generous lady. She will be missed by all who knew her.
