Cheryl Atterberry

Cheryl Elizabeth Atterberry, 64, of Portland, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Atterberry was born in Marshall, Missouri on July 3, 1951, the daughter of the late Walter and Annie (Morrison) Roll. She was the widow of David Arthur Atterberry. They were married November 30, 1968 at Hermann, Missouri. David preceded her in death on October 9, 1996. Cheryl was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, Bachelor, Missouri. She worked at Fulton State Hospital as a forensic rehab specialist for 25 years. She loved hummingbirds and flowers. In her spare time she liked to garden and cut her grass and make sure the lawn was short and well maintained. Her biggest pride and love was for her family. They will all miss her dearly. Cheryl was a very giving person. She would do anything for anyone. Cheryl is survived by her four children, two daughters Melissa Winkelmann and husband Harvey of Ottumwa, Iowa and Tammy Dungan and husband Denny of Portland, and two sons, John Atterberry and David Atterberry and wife Shelly, both of Portland; a sister, Sharon Pottebaum of Hermann; a brother, Robert Roll of Boonville; a brother, Richard Roll of Boonville; a sister, Rebecca Henry of Marshall; a sister, Teresa Farley of Portland; a brother, Ronald Roll of Portland; a brother, Joseph Roll of Portland; a brother, John Roll of Mokane; and a brother, Patrick Roll of Slater, Missouri; nine grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Russell Roll; and two grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Toedtmann and Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating.
