Bobby Lee Thomas, age 82 years, of Fulton, passed away at his home on Friday, August 14, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 22, 1933 in Fulton, the son of Dewey Lee Thomas and Lucile (Calvin) Thomas. He was married on February 7, 1959 to Margaret "Butch" Davis, who preceded him in death on April 14, 2009. A lifelong resident of Fulton, Bobby was a graduate of Fulton High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and went to work at the Ovid Bell Press upon his return. He retired from Ovid Bell in 2005 after 52 years. Bobby played baseball for Reform and other area teams, loved the St. Louis Cardinals, country music, and sprint car racing. He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen "Kadi" Easley of Fulton; grandsons, Justin Easley (Amanda) of Fulton, and Clinton Easley, currently serving in the United States Navy in San Diego, Calif.; and great-granddaughter, Alexandra Catherine of Fulton, born August 9th of this year. He is also survived by a sister, Carol Thomas (Jack) and their family of Fulton; and a sister-in-law, Becky Souza (Paul) and their family of Oklahoma City, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Butch; and mother-in-law, Maureen Davis of Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
