Gladys Payne

Gladys B. Payne, 84, of Fulton, passed away, Thursday, May 8, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Payne was born July 12, 1929, in Havelock, Nebraska to Andrew and Ida Bosch. She was one of six children. She married Edgar W. Payne in Fulton on June 4, 1948, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Payne was a member of the Court Street United Methodist Church and retired from the Fulton State Hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Bobby) Mealy of Fulton; two sons, Wallace Payne of Fulton and Ray Payne of Fulton; two sisters, Lorene Craighead of Fulton and Ruth Franklin, of Fulton and three grandchildren, Gabe Craighead (Amy)of Fulton, Heather Vandeloecht (Matt) of Fulton, Jana Payne of Selma, Alabama; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Payne is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted, Monday, May 12, 2014, by Pastor Emily Carroll at the Court Street United Methodist Church in Fulton, Mo. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. the funeral will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. with burial following at Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family has suggested contributions may be made to the Court Street United Methodist Church or the Callaway County Relay for Life.
