Mike Beahon, 70, of Fulton, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014, of complications of kidney failure. Mike was born Aug. 24, 1943, in Rochester, N.Y., the son of George and Eleanor Beahon. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He attended St. John Fisher and Rochester Business Institute. He married Mary Ann Eggers, June 6, 1970, and they had one daughter, Kelly Kathleen Keller. A member of the Fulton Rotary Club since 1995, he served as president during 2010-11 and was recently inducted as District Governor for Rotary District 6080. Mike was Fulton Rotarian of the Year in 2011-12, a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Show Me Rotary PETs Planning Council. Civic and service organization leadership was nothing new to Mike, who joined the Jaycees in Columbia, Mo., in 1972 before moving to Kansas, where he served as local president, regional director, state president and national vice president. He was hired by Jaycees (Junior Chamber) International in Coral Gables, Fla., in 1980, and served as area director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He later spent nearly two years as managing director of Africana Breweries in Ibadan, Nigeria. The Beahons returned to Missouri in 1995, and purchased Sir Winston's Restaurant & Pub in Fulton. In addition to Rotary, Mike was actively involved in the Rwanda Community Partnership and made two trips to Rwanda. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, a former chair of the Callaway County Tourism Board and a former member of the Fulton Area Development Corporation Board of Directors. In addition to his wife of 44 years, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Kris Keller of Columbia; his granddaughters, Brooklyn and Lillian; his sister and brother, Laurie and Chris Beahon of Rochester, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, Ron Eggers of Two Rivers, Wis.; several nieces and nephews; and a great-nephew; as well as his beloved dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Danny Beahon. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at Sir Winston's Restaurant, 1205 South Business 54 in Fulton. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at St. Thomas More Newman Center, 602 Turner Avenue, Columbia, MO. with Father Dan Davis officiating.
