George Michael "Mike" Lewis, 60, of Kingdom City, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014, at his home with his family members present. Mike was born on March 1, 1953, on Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, the son of George E. Lewis and the late Norma Lewis. Mike graduated from the University of Missouri and was president of Alpha Gamma Sigma in 1975. He worked at the Columbia Sale Barn for 30 years and also owned a farm and trucking company. Mike enjoyed attending Fulton High School sports, hunting, collecting model trains, and had an appreciation for John Deere tractors. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his father, George E. Lewis; sons, Matthew Lewis and wife Amber of Kingdom City and their two daughters, and Todd Lewis of Kingdom City; sisters, Brenda Grober and her husband Ken of St. Louis, and Barbara Foster and her husband Stan of Auxvasse; nieces, Becca Grober of St. Louis and Amanda Foster of Columbia; nephew, Garret Foster and wife Makenzie and their son of Fulton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Lewis and grandparents, Edwin and Mary A. Lewis of Kingdom City. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014, at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastors Terry Lipstreau and Larry Paris officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be in Richland Baptist Church Cemetery.
