William "Bill" A Foster, 82, of Fulton, died Friday, October 18, 2013, at Boone Hospital Center. He was born February 2, 1931, in Fulton, the son of the late Raymond and Callie Nichols Foster. On June 13, 1948, he was united in marriage to Pauline Doerhoff, his wife of over 65 years. She survives of the home. Bill was a veteran of the Korean War. He was self-employed in the trucking business and was leased to Backer Potato Chip Company, retiring in 1995. In Bill's earlier days he loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Some of his greatest loves in his life, besides his family, was his love of the trucking business and his cats, as there wasn't a stray cat that Bill wouldn't take in. Bill is also survived by four daughters, Judy (Fred) Ellsmore, Tiffin, Iowa, Kathy Smith, Steedman, Nancy (Jerry) Giboney, Fulton and Tracy (Robert) Scott, St. Peters, Mo.; one brother, Henry Foster of Fulton; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Patty Baker and Dixie Shiverdecker. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at VFW Post 2657, S. Hwy. 54 in Fulton with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating. Entombment will be at a later date at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
