Marilyn P. Jones, 85, Valdosta Ga., formerly of Hatton, Mo., passed away peacefully Thursday, July 11, 2013, at her home. She was born April 18, 1928, in Hereford, Texas, the daughter of the late Paul and Amanda (Barker) Fair. On November 2, 1945, she was united in marriage to J.G. Jones Jr. Mr. Jones preceded her in death on January 12, 1995. Marilyn spent her life running the family farm with her husband J.G. She was a life-long member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed making pies and cookies, quilting, gardening, fishing and hunting. Marilyn loved her community and was a founding member of the Hatton Craft Day. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons Glen Jones and his wife Audrey of Valdosta, Ga., and Gary Jones and his wife Loretta of Lock Haven, Pa.; three grandchildren Michelle Jones, Christina Jones and Benjamin Jones; two sister-in-laws Louise Fair and Stella Jones; several nieces and nephews; other relatives, her many dear friends, and the entire Hatton community. In addition to her parents and husband, three brothers Ronald, Carol and Marvin Fair preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Hatton, Mo. Interment will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Mexico, Mo. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, Mo.
