Shirley Faye Neal

Shirley Faye Neal, 77, of Fayette, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at University Hospital. She was born in Mokane on April 20, 1936, the daughter of the late Tenny Spillars and the late Anna Mae (Martin) Spillars. Shirley was united in marriage to George Luther Neal on July 6, 1952. He survives at their home. Shirley enjoyed playing cards, especially pitch and rummy. She also liked to hunt arrowheads and fish. Those remaining to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her husband of 61 years; nine children, George Allen Neal (Barb) of Fulton, Steven Lee Neal of Fayette, Patricia Ann Bowen of Fulton, Melvin Neal of Fayette, Carolyn Sue Teeter of Hartsburg, Joyce Uebinger (Gary) of Williamsburg, Kathy Lee of Fayette, Ricky Neal of Fulton, and Larry Neal of Fulton; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Wanetta Smerr, and her grandson, Timothy Simpson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held at Central Christian Church cemetery.
