Georgia Rae Thomas, 81, of Fulton, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at her home. She was born October 29, 1930, in Portland, the daughter of the late Adolph Brashear and the late Inez (Hayes) Brashear. On November 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to Doyle Thomas, who survives her passing. Georgia worked at the Brown Shoe Factory before moving on to the Fulton State Hospital, where she worked for 29 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Baby. Georgia also enjoyed cooking. In addition to her husband of 58 years, Georgia will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two daughters, Nancy Moore and fiancÈ, Jamie Smith, of Fulton, and Tammy Cox and husband, Charles, of Americus, Mo.; three grandchildren, Michelle Langston, Taylor Cox, and Jordon Cox; and three step-grandchildren, Niki Cox, Steven Cox, and Phillip Cox. In addition to her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by two brothers, John Brashear and Wallace Brashear; and five sisters, Maurice Moore, Rose Ferguson, Margaret Elsenrath, Irene Nolte, and Dorothy Schlatt. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012, at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service also at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
