Virginia Helen Stephens, 85, of Mexico, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Golden Living Center-Pin Oaks, in Mexico. She was born April 7, 1926, in Fulton, Mo., a daughter of Harley and Helen (Lemers) Giboney. She married her husband of 62 years, Charles Richard Stephens, on March 22, 1947, in Fulton and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2009. Mrs. Stephens was a devoted housewife and mother. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to her husband and children. No one had more uses for duct tape. She is survived by one son, Mike Stephens, Lake Wales FIa., and Mexico, Mo.; one daughter, Barbara (Jeannie) Dodge and husband Dave, Auburn Wash.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Frisbie and husband Jonathan, Jefferson City; two great-granddaughters, Lilly and Henley; one great-grandson, Wyatt; one sister, Doris Ann Crump, New Bloomfield. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be from noon until time of service. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Ostrom officiating. Burial will be in the Auxvasse City Cemetery.
