Richard Maddox

Richard (Dickie) Maddox, age 64, of Fulton, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011, after fighting lung cancer. Dickie was born on December 19, 1946, to Richard M. Maddox and Estella (Wilson) Maddox, who both preceded him in death. Dickie, a native Callawegian, was a passionate hunter and fisherman and a pretty darn good storyteller. Survivors include: his wife of 39 years, Shirley; a daughter, Tonya Maddox Cupp and husband Andrew, of Indianapolis, Indiana; a son, R. Travis Maddox, of Fulton; granddaughters Laney and Brooklyn; and grandson Colton. Dickie was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Maddox. Memorial services celebrating Dickie's life will be held at Maupin Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2011, with Gary Maddox officiating.
