Betty L. Davis, 82, of Fulton, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011, at Fulton Presbyterian Manor. She was born September 7, 1929, in Callaway County, the daughter of Raymond and Frances (Foster) Oliver. She was united in marriage to Edward L. Davis Jr. on January 28, 1951 in Fulton. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2000. Betty attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo. She transferred to the University of Missouri where she and Ed were the first married couple to graduate Phi Beta Kappa together in the School of Social Work. Betty enjoyed crafts and taught painting classes. She was an excellent baker and was especially known for her pies and bread. She had a love of dogs, especially Dachshunds. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She will be greatly missed by one son, Dr. Kent Davis and wife Kim of Paris, Ky.; one daughter, Jana Oestreich of Fulton; one daughter-in-law, Tina Davis of Virginia Beach, Va.; four grandchildren, Drew Oestreich and wife Jamie of Fulton, Lainey Oestreich Bratt and husband Dan of Columbia, Allex Oestreich and boyfriend Matt Hembree of Columbia, and Richard Edward "Kip" Davis of Brooklyn, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Mark Davis. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Joe Reggin officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
