Mary Anne Waggoner, age 71, of Barrhead Alberta, Canada, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at University of Alberta Hospital, with her three children by her side. Anne went to join John, the love of her life, who she has mourned for six years. Anne was born on September 17, 1939, in Millersburg, to Howard and Sadine Bezler. She grew up with seven brothers, where she learned to stand up for herself and compete to win. Anne was born during the Depression, her parents were farmers and very poor. On May 14, 1960, she married John Donald Waggoner. They had three children; Mike, Mark and Melissa (Missy). They farmed near Stedman, Missouri. In May of 1975, they moved their family to a farm at Mystery Lake, Alberta. Anne worked in nursing at the Barrhead Hospital and Keir Care Centre for 25 years. She retired in 2000. Anne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, playing croquet and traveling. Anne is survived by her brothers, Jim Bezler of Eldon and Marshall Bezler of St. Joseph; her children, Mike, Mark (Rhonda) of Barrhead, AB and Missy (Grant) Harder of St. Albert, AB; grandchildren, Shawna, Dezmond, Daemon, Michael, Hannah and Joshua Waggoner; Jason and Kelsie Murray and Dalton Waggoner; and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne was proceeded in death by her parents, Howard (May 1966) and Sadine (March 2008); her husband, John (November 26, 2004); and brothers, Howard Jr., Ralph, Gene, Neil and Jerry Bezler. A celebration of Anne's life was held at the Rose Garden Chapel, Barrhead Alberta, Canada, Saturday, May 28, 2011, with Dr. Randy Blackateer officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations on Anne's behalf to the Stollery Children's Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
