June O'Neal

June O'Neal, 96, of Fulton, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Fulton Manor. She was born the daughter of the late Narcis Auchly and the late Charlotte (Schneider) Auchly in St. Peters, Missouri on June 14, 1925. June was married to Charles O'Neal who preceded her in death on August 6, 2011. June was devoted to the Callaway Senior Center. She was instrumental in the efforts to bring the new facility to Callaway County and spent countless hours promoting and raising funds. She found great joy in singing, sharing her talents with the Senior Singers. As part of this group, she sang at other senior centers and nursing homes. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening. June will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by son, Tom O'Neal (Jean) of Auxvasse; daughters, Peggy Laughlin of Mokane, and Mary Lou Whyte (David) of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Ruth Auchly; sisters-in-law, Hazel Sieler, and Genevieve Laurie; grandchildren, Dawn DeBrodie (Donnie), Doug Patrick (Jen), Wendy Custard, Taylor Overstreet (Lance), Kevin O'Neal (Kari), Kristopher O'Neal (Kayla), Kyle O'Neal (Amie), Brian Whyte (Luciana Sung); and great-grandchildren, Sam Green (T.J), Abigail and Easton Patrick, Megan Garrett (Joey), Charleigh and Chase Overstreet, Creason Custard, Braydn O'Neal, Emma O'Neal, Katelyn O'Neal, Coltyn O'Neal, Kierstyn O'Neal, Kourtney O'Neal, Christopher Whyte, Blake Seabolt, Kennon Whyte, and Adalida Moore; great-great-grandchild, Rowan Green; nephew, Bruce Auchly; and niece, Patty Ward (Harold). In addition to her husband, June was preceded in death by brothers, Lester, Kenneth, and Virgil Auchly; and son-in-law, Chuck Laughlin. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Steedman Cemetery.
