Esther Marie Stiers Sessler Levings

Esther Marie Stiers Sessler Levings, 91, of Auxvasse passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021, at the home of her granddaughter. She was born August 11, 1930, in Bluffton, Missouri, the daughter of the late Walter Stiers and the late Ethel Mae (McGarvin) Stiers. On February 2, 1950, Esther was united in marriage to Paul W. Sessler who preceded her in death on July 9, 1973. She was later married to Charles Levings on November 29, 1985. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1989. Ester worked at Browns-Samuel and Stride Rite Shoe Factory as a stitcher. She went on to work at Fulton State Hospital and retired from there in 1990. In retirement, she worked part-time at Kingdom Nursing Home and Jefferson Lodge as a cook. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Those remaining to cherish her memory include son, John Sessler (Debbie) of Auxvasse; daughter, Carol Giaconia (Jack) of Levingston, Texas; daughters-in-law, Tess Sessler, M.J. Sessler, and Margaret Sessler; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one on the way; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husbands and parents, Esther was preceded in death by five sons, Paul E., Cecil, Leon, Joe, and Phillip Sessler; daughter, Mary "Sis" Reid; five brothers; one sister; granddaughter, Tonya Sessler; daughter-in-law, Mary Sessler; and son-in-law, Sid Reid. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
