Virginia Joyce Austin, 89, of Williamsburg, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at her daughter's home. She was born April 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Albert Hiram Jatho and the late Laura Virginia (Morrison) Jatho. On December 27, 1951, she was united in marriage to Gene Austin. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2014. Joyce was a homemaker and very involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. She was a member of Old Auxvasse Nine Mile Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder, Superintendent of Sunday School, taught Sunday School, and helped with Vacation Bible School. She received the Evelyn Bedell Award for significant service to the church and community. Joyce was also a member of the Williamsburg Community Ladies Club and Williamsburg Community Center Club. Joyce was the Democratic Committee Woman for Nine-Mile Township and was an election judge in Williamsburg for numerous years. Joyce was extremely proud of her 13 grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events. She loved watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball, Kansas City Chiefs football, painting, fishing, bird watching, watching The Price is Right, The Young and The Restless, and Jeopardy. Joyce's memory will be cherished by four daughters, Brenda Boulware of Hatton, Beverly Guastadisegni (Joe) of Oak Hills, Calif., Melody Krampe (Jim) of Williamsburg, Cathy Crisp (Phillip) of Auxvasse; 13 grandchildren, Jody Miller (Cory), Stephen Boulware (Rachel), Troy Boulware (Christy), Joy Vincent (Mitch), Anthony Guastadisegni (Jessica), Luke Guastadisegni (Emily), Merry Lopez (Will), Tyler Krampe (Abby), Eric Krampe (Cassie), Hannah Neal (Jared), Jordan Logan (Cray), Moriah Lopez (Ed) and Trevor Crisp (Bethany Craighead); and great-grandchildren, Corynne and Cade Miller; Peyton, Blake and Reese Boulware; Nolan, Landon, and Lila Boulware; Faith, Justus, and Hope Vincent; Aubrey Guastadisegni; Austin and Everly Guastadisegni; Zoey and Kaleb Lopez; Eloise and James Krampe; Halle Krampe; Levi and Kane Logan; Riahlyn Lopez; due in December, Turner Neal; and baby boy Krampe due May 2022. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Brenda Austin and Nella Mae Jatho; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Glenn and Luther Lee Jatho; and son-in-law, Mike Boulware. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bill Jessop officiating. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
