Paul Ray Neal, 50, of Fulton, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021, at University of Missouri Hospital. He was born on September 4, 1970, to the late Marilyn Schulte Neal. On October 20, 2018, Paul married Angela (Simpson) Neal, who survives his passing. Paul Ray was employed as a corrections officer at Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center for 20 years. His hobbies included bowling in younger years and fishing. Paul Ray loved hot rods and attending car shows with his friends. Win or lose, he was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan! Paul Ray loved to cook. Barbequing was an art form to him. He even competed in competitions. Paul Ray loved getting together for family gatherings. He would play dice with his aunt Kathy, aunt Cindy, and grandma often. Turkey shoots were another passion of Paul Ray's. Paul Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Angela; grandmother, Carlene Hiatt; uncle, Lee Schulte (Linda); aunts, Cindy Stevens and Kathryn Sims; uncle, Alvin "Tinky" Neal (Sandy); father-in-law, Charles Simpson; brothers-in-law, Roger Simpson (Heather) and Matthew Simpson; his beloved dog, Willie; and numerous other family members and friends. In addition to his mother, Paul Ray was preceded in death by grandparents, Edison and Jean Neal, and Pierce "Diz" Hiatt; cousin, Kassie Sims; uncle, Keith Sims; and aunt, Debbie Love. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
