January 12th, 2021Richard Wayne Kemp, 64, of Montgomery City, Mo., died on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at his home. Richard Wayne Kemp was born October 29, 1956 in Callaway County, Mo., to Frances Elmo Kemp and Ruby Frey Kemp. He married Billie Jones Kemp in Montgomery City on July 8, 1978. Wayne retired from Fulton State Hospital in Fulton, Mo. and previously worked at the Clutch Factory in Jonesburg, Mo. He enjoyed the outdoors, watching western movies, and visiting with all his family and friends. Wayne is survived by his wife of over 42 years, Billie Jones Kemp of Montgomery City, Mo.; sons, Jeffrey Wayne Kemp and John William Kemp, both of Montgomery City, Mo.; grandson, Lyric Anthony Kemp of Montgomery City, Mo. and granddaughter, Gracie Lynn Kemp of Montgomery City, Mo. Also surviving are his brothers, Joe Kemp of Fulton, Mo.; J.C. Kemp and wife Mary Kay of New Bloomfield, Mo.; and David Kemp and wife Linda of Bland, Mo.; sisters, Renee Harrison and husband Jim of Fulton, Mo.; Tamie Ernst and husband Joe of Alabama; Wilma Wall and husband Danny of Holts Summit, Mo.; Teresa Jett and husband Wayne of Mokane, Mo.; and Stephanie Mahnken and husband P.J. of Fulton, Mo.; brother-in-law, Jay Jones of Montgomery City, Mo.; sisters-in-law: Virginia Davis of Montgomery City, Mo.; Faye Koosman and husband Dave of Iowa; and Bessie Elsenrath and husband Richard of Mokane, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Elmo and Ruby Frey Kemp; brothers, Wallace Kemp, D. D. Kemp, Frances Lynn Kemp, and Leslie Dean Kemp; sisters, Sis Duraham and Kaye Love; mother-in-law, Delores Hank and father-in-law, John Hank. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Mo. Gene Burch will officiate and interment will be in the Montgomery City Cemetery in Montgomery City, Mo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Mo. Casketbearers include Jay Jones, Dustin Jones, Trevor Jones, Jacob Jones, Tyler Davis and Josh Craig. Honorary casketbearers include Johnny Love, Robbie Love, and Lyric Kemp.
