George Monroe Taylor Jr.

George Monroe Taylor Jr., 73, of Pasadena, Calif., passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020. He was born on August 31, 1947 in Fulton, Mo. to George Monroe and Erna Mae Taylor. He was the first of four children including Paul William, Lois Ann, and Elston Howard. George attended Fulton Public Schools, graduating from high school in 1965 and from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman State University) in 1969. George was an active member at St. James United Methodist Church. In 1972, he moved to Southern California where he became Supervisory and Chief Social Worker with the Veterans Administration Hospital System for many years. He was also a College Instructor at Cal State University, San Bernardino, Azusa Pacific University and the University of Phoenix. Most importantly, he was a man of God, a family man, a Bible teacher, and a good friend. George is survived by his wife, Gail A. Valentine Taylor; daughters, Andrea Brayboy (Christopher), Gemia Taylor, and Gianna Fay (Evan). Graveside Services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Courts of Remembrance, 6300 Forest Lawn Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90068.
