Mrs. Aleace Harris Dungan, 74, of Rocky Mount, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 28, 1946 as Linda Aleace Harris in Boonville, Missouri, a daughter of Lee and Hazel Myrtle (Decker) Harris, who preceded her in death. In 1963 she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Rodney O. Dungan, who survives at their home. Aleace graduated from Fulton High School, then earned a BA degree in Counseling Psychology in 1986 from Stephens College. She continued her education earning her Masters of Social Work from the University of Missouri Columbia in 1989. She was employed with the State of Missouri for over 30 years primarily in the Department of Mental Health at Fulton State Hospital. She began her career as a stenographer and moved on to various roles and positions before retirement in 2000 after a number of years as a forensic program coordinator. Aleace enjoyed fishing with her husband (usually out-fishing him), cooking, arts and crafts, reading, water sports with her family, and genealogy. Aleace was a baptized Presbyterian. Most of all she cherished her grandchildren, and thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother and had so much fun with them over the years. In addition to her husband, Rodney, Aleace is survived by two sons: Rodney Kurt Dungan (Mary Acton), Gregory Scott Dungan (Karen); five terrific grandchildren: Joel Dungan, Sydney Dungan, Eyla Dungan, Brendan Dungan, Destri Dungan; three sisters: Yvonne Cundiff, Nina Maddox, Gale Allen; and one brother: Norman Harris. She was preceded in death by her oldest brother: Lilburn Harris. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Central Missouri Hospice or Central Missouri Home Health - 1001 Southwest Blvd. Suite B.
