Bertha Ellen Taylor

Bertha Ellen Taylor, 91, of Auxvasse, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021, at her home. Bertha was born on June 29, 1929, in Mexico, the daughter of R. K. and Mabel (Green) Jenkins. On Sept. 12, 1947, in Fulton, she married Robert Lee Taylor. Mrs. Taylor was the secretary for her family's business, Taylor Plumbing. She was a member of the Auxvasse Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and helped with activities of the church. Bertha was a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed family gatherings. She also loved traveling in the RV with Robert. They made many trips to Texas in the winter and also traveled to Hawaii. She absolutely loved the warm weather! Mrs. Taylor also enjoyed reading. Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Robert Taylor of the home; five children, Vicki Ritter of Moberly, Dennis (Nancy) Taylor of Auxvasse, Karen (Bob) Fry of Fulton, Ron (Chicky) Taylor, and Lori (Chris) Valleroy of Columbia; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, R.K. and Mabel Jenkins; her mother and father-in-law, Lewis and Carrie Taylor; one sister, Theda Mundy; two brothers, Glenn and Rudy Jenkins; one granddaughter, one great-great-granddaughter, and one son-in-law, David Ritter. Funeral Services was at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 22, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Heather Patten officiating. Burial followed in Auxvasse Cemetery. Visitation was Monday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Auxvasse Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
