Saundra Gail Kimbell DeWitt

Saundra Gail Kimbell DeWitt, 80, of Plano, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. She suffered a stroke in late 2019 and was battling dementia. Saundra was born on June 10, 1940, in St. Joseph, Missouri and grew up in Fulton, Missouri. She graduated from Fulton High School in 1958 and from William Woods College in 1960. Saundra had a warm, loving personality and everyone who met her loved her. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Saundra went back to work when her daughters were in junior high. She held jobs with Montgomery Ward in their credit office and with several mortgage companies. Her last full-time position before retirement was as an REO specialist. In retirement, Saundra was active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at the VA clinic in Abilene, Texas. Saundra will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Senior Master Sgt. (Ret) David Randall DeWitt of Abilene, Texas; daughter, Daphne DeWitt Adkins and son-in-law, Bill Adkins; daughter, Sherryl DeWitt Magee and son-in-law, Steven Magee; and her granddaughter, Alicia Gail Magee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Kimbell and Gaydelle Greger Kimbell. The family wishes to offer special thanks to The Garden View Home and to the caregivers who so lovingly cared for Saundra as well as to the hospice team from the Visiting Nurses Association of Texas.
