Edith Romaine Schmid, 101, of Fulton, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Fulton Manor. Edith was born on April 13, 1920, in Wainwright, Missouri, the daughter of the late Prince and Betty (Haynes) Branch. Edith married Harry R. Schmid on November 11, 1941. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1994. Edith was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church. She held jobs at Mattingly's, Western Auto and Todd's. Edith generously volunteered her time at local elementary school libraries. A talented seamstress, she shared her talents with her family and friends and was also known for making the best meatloaf and cherry cobbler. Edith will be fondly remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law. Edith is survived by one son, Wayne Schmid and his wife Mary; one daughter, Mona Bartley and her husband Steve; grandsons, Josh Bartley and his wife Nili and their children, Tess and Jackson of Natick, Mass., and Nick Bartley and his wife Amanda and their daughters, Reese, Grace, and Emmylou of Cape Coral, Fla. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Edward "Bud" Branch, and James "Buck" Branch; and sisters, Mary Belle Eastwood and Frances Smart. Private family services will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
