Jackie Lee Martin Jr., 73, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Mo. Jackie was born on August 27, 1947, in Harlan, Ky., the son of Jack Sr. and Marcella (Bryant) Martin, who preceded him in death. On August 26, 1967, he was married to Barbara Shire in New Buffalo, Mich. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jack was a faithful member of Fulton Church of God of Holiness. In 1994, he retired after several years of being a Superintendent at various school districts; in 2004, he retired as a Methodist minister and in 2019, he retired from the Missouri Department of Corrections as Substance Abuse Counselor. Jackie enjoyed spending time outdoors and adored and cherished his time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara Martin of the home; one son, Rudy Martin of Warrensburg, Mo.; four daughters, Tonya Rohlman (Richard) of Billings, Mo., April Middleton of Fulton, Mo., Sara Pitner (Scott) of Plano, Ill. and Jenny Vass (Brad) of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Jay Martin (Deb) of Hobart, Ind.; one sister, Minnie Kay Augustinovich (Steve) of Valparaiso, Ind.; 12 grandchildren, Cara Martin, Dakota Middleton, Rebekah Pitner, Clarissa Watkins, Bridget Watkins, Zoey Middleton, Hunter Middleton, Rachel Pitner, Kyle Rohlman, Caleb Pitner, Brooke Bixby and Kate Vass; one great-granddaughter, Cynthia Ruby; and special family friend, Judy Casko. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Minnie Bryant, and his parents, Jack Martin Sr. and Marcella Martin. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Fulton Church of God Holiness. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Travis Sayler officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Mo.
