Dorothy Mae Hackmann

Dorothy Mae Hackmann, 94, passed from her earthly home and ascended the steps to heaven on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Kingdom Care Senior Living in Fulton, Mo. She was looking forward to celebrating her 95th birthday three days later surrounded by family and friends. Dorothy was born on April 3, 1926, in a log cabin near Barnett, Mo., the daughter of Edward and Minnie (Kays) Jobe, who preceded her in death. On April 10, 1948, she was united in marriage in Jefferson City, Mo. to Merlin Charles Hackmann, who preceded her in death on October 2, 1973. The couple moved to Fulton in 1948 when Merlin took a job as an accountant with the Fulton State Hospital. Over the years, Dorothy worked at various times for Westminster College, the Fulton State Hospital, and David Shively CPA. Dorothy was a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church in Fulton for almost 70 years. She also served as a Board member for the Fulton Medical Center Auxiliary and the Presbyterian Manor. Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother whose Christian faith touched many people. She loved and faithfully prayed for each member of her family on a daily basis. Survivors include her son, Bruce Hackmann of Fulton; two daughters, Barbara Feyerabend (Thomas) of Blue Springs, Mo. and Marilyn Paugh of Katy, Texas; eight grandchildren, David Feyerabend (Rachel) of Kansas City, Mo., Matthew Feyerabend (Meghan) of Siloam Springs, Ark., Nathan Feyerabend (Marci) of Overland Park, Kan., Eric Paugh of Denver, Colo., Mark Paugh of Ft. Smith, Ark., Alex Paugh (Abigail) of Oklahoma City, Okla., Lindsay Hackmann of Columbia, Mo., and Meredith Hackmann of Columbia, Mo.; and six great-grandchildren, Lydia, Liam, Nora, Owen, Luke and Lainey. She was preceded in death by one sister, Lorene Martin; four brothers, Roy Jobe, Edward Jobe, Paul Jobe and Dillard Jobe; a son-in-law, Steve Paugh; and a daughter-in-law, Debra Mouser Hackmann. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Fulton. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Martin Stukenborg officiating. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton.
