Anna May Brewer, 83, of Hallsville, formerly of Fulton, passed away at University of Missouri Hospital on Saturday, March 13, 2021. She was born in McCredie, Missouri on May 7, 1937, to the late John Velte and the late Frances (East) Velte. On June 17, 1955, Anna married John Edward Brewer who preceded her in death on August 16, 1997. Anna was a graduate of Fulton High School. She retired from the University of Missouri Health Care where she worked in patient accounts. In her younger years, Anna enjoyed camping, fishing and crocheting. She made countless trips to the casino with her sister Mary. Throughout her life, Anna was an avid sports fan. She especially supported the St. Louis Cardinals and Missouri Tigers, but found the most joy in watching her grandchildren. Anna will be fondly remembered by sons, Mike Brewer (Patty) of Steedman, and Joe Brewer (Carla) of Fayette; sister, Tillie Garriott of Fulton; sister-in-law, Margaret "Sissy" Brewer of Fulton; grandchildren, Jessica Howell (Timothy) of Fayette, and David Brewer (Rob) of Chicago; great-grandchildren, Knox, Barrett, Lincoln, and Lochlan Howell; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Anna was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Gohring, and Sara Miller. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
